Shine was set up in 2006 after recognising a niche in the market for a new and vibrant modelling agency supplying both advertising firms and clients alike.

Shine was set up in 2006 after recognising a niche in the market for a new and vibrant modelling agency supplying both advertising firms and clients alike.

To find good calibre models, or promotional staff, then you had to look outside the region to agencies who did not know the local talent or who charged over the odds for models to travel in. Hence the creation of Shine, with the plan of supplying promotional staff, models and even performers like voice-over artists and trained actors, to support sales and marketing campaigns mainly in Yorkshire.

The Brief

Shine promotions required a website to promote their services and the models that they have on their books. They also require a means by which the users of the website can request the details of a particular model for one of their events or shows etc.

A latest news section was also to be added allowing the administrators the option to add, edit and delete latest news articles on the website.

The website needed to be very simple to use but very classy and run smoothly so elements of flash were required along with video streaming.

The Solution and Special features

As Shine Promotions are a leading promotions and modelling agency, they needed a website to not only look good but work effectively and smoothly. Elements of flash were used throughout the site to provide a smooth transition between the images and also for the video streaming on the website.

For viewing the models portfolio, we used a lightbox feature which sets the model image apart from the website. This effect is commonly used but is very effective. In the brief, it was also required that the users needed a means to be able to request the details of the models. Under each model therefore we created a form which used JavaScript to slide into the page, and yet again offering a smooth feature on the site.

Shine Promotions main aim for the website was to promote the services that the company provide but also to show the beauty of the models they currently have on their system. We believe that the website created provides this platform and has proven to be very successful for them.
