It's Welford Media's birthday!
Today marks our tenth year as a company - who thought we'd get to double figures?
We've grown dramatically over the last decade, expanding from a single developer to an active team of eleven humans and one mischievous pup. Let's be honest, every team needs a dog.
Originally named Unilot Limited, Welford Media was initially intended to be an auction site for universities. Once the decision was made to take the big leap into web development, many company names were suggested - including my personal favourite, 'Dolphin Media'. The team finally chose to name the company after the street where it all started: Welford Road, Leicester.
Recent years have seen Welford Media branch out into a variety of areas, including web development, web design, digital marketing and hosting, letting us offer a selection of major web services from under one roof. Our team have developed over 20 extensions for the OpenCart platform, including bestsellers OpenBay Pro and OpenStock, and we've become close friends and partners with many of the ecommerce industry's top firms.
To celebrate, the Welford Media team (minus Rufus!) headed to York to welcome our tenth year in with a bang. The weekend consisted of some healthy competition in the form of bowling and go karting, a night at a comedy club, and far too much pizza.
