Regardless of how gorgeous your website design is, if your images are low quality, old and unrelated to your brand, you're not going to impress clients. With thousands of photographers happy to offer their stock photos for free, beautiful imagery no longer has to break the bank.
Below we've listed five high quality stock photo websites, each with a vast gallery of free images to use however you'd like. Although not compulsory, it's always nice to include credit where you can to the photographer - a big thanks to Brooke Lark via Unsplash for our gorgeous blog header image this week!
Unsplash
With over 300,000 free photos, Unsplash is by far one of the largest collection of free stock photos available. Either search for a specific keyword or explore collections to find similar photos. Not only is their website easy to use, but the quality of the images are incomparable - making it our favourite stock photo website by far.
Pexels
Each month, over 3,000 new photos are added to Pexels, making it a great place to find new and original content. All of their high quality images are licensed under the Creative Commons Zero (CC0) license, making it easy and hassle free to use them on your website.
Pixabay
Although Pixabay does feature some sponsored Shutterstock images, the majority of the images on their website are completely free to use for commercial purposes. Their wide range of themes make it great for any industry.
Stock Snap
StockSnap has an ever expanding collection of high quality, beautiful images. Their images are totally free to use in your projects, without needing to give attribution if you don't want to. Quickly and easily search their collection or view their most popular categories and trending images if you're in need of some inspiration.
Split Shire
Although smaller than other stock image websites, SplitShire has a great selection of unique and niche photographs. Set up to give unused photos a home, SplitShire is quickly becoming a useful tool for complimenting website designs.
